ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT / REVOLVING LOAN FUND DIRECTOR

 

 

Primary responsibilities include working with top level executives in business, industry and government to

attract and retain businesses within the Maumee Valley Planning Organization Region (Defiance, Fulton,

Henry, Paulding and Williams Counties). Lead efforts in the in evaluating and forecasting of demographics,

economic and land use data, and project direction to research projects related to grant applications, and plan

development and execution. Manage the organization’s technical assistance outreach program to County

Economic Development Offices. Provide leadership and direction of the Maumee Valley Economic

Development District and coordination with the US Department of Commerce Economic Development

Administration’s Chicago office. Reports to the Executive Director.

Essential Duties of the Position:

• Coordinate with local public officials, finance partners and potential businesses on potential projects

• Prepare professional documents related to the projects

• Manages all phases of project management

• Follow up with project implementation to ensure project objectives and deadlines are being met and

       offer assistance and guidance where necessary

• Set and maintain high standards of quality (i.e. accuracy, thoroughness and degree of excellence in work) for the programs

• Serve as an ambassador for the organization as an advocate for regional issues

• Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with the public, businesses, public officials, community and business leaders and the media

• Seek out methods to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and its programs and to expand revenue sources

• Attend meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions and review publications to become and remain current on planning requirements and new developments in assigned work areas

 

 

In addition, will act for and on behalf of the Executive Director to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the

activities and funding related to Maumee Valley Planning Organization Region and coordinate a collaboration

of a variety of funding sources, including but not limited to CDBG, EDA, ODOT and State of Ohio, etc. and

in other areas such as:

 

Economic Development:

• Lead long range planning activities related to Economic Planning

• Assist with preparation of Grant Applications

• Assist with research, facilitating meetings and other Transportation-related activities

 

Revolving Loan Fund/Micro Loan:

• Coordinate with potential businesses and local community officials

• Prepare professional documents related to the projects

• Follow up on all required documentation related to RLF program

• Prepare Semi-Annual Reports as required by the Ohio Development Services Agency

• Assist in managing the RLF balances for the communities served by MVPO

• Resolve delinquent accounts as needed

 

Performs other duties, as assigned, to assist in attaining and/or completing projects/programs that

Maumee Valley Planning Organization administers.
